DMI 439 - MRI Protocols
(Three hours theory per week) This course discusses imaging of the head, neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities in detail. The details covered for these common examinations includes the following to correlate to the ARRT MR Registry Examination: common exam indications, equipment needed, patient positioning, slice prescription, suggested protocol, protocol optimization, and patient considerations. The nature and use of contrast agents are also discussed. Finally, the biological effects of MRI, patient education, screening and care are reviewed from previous course work.
