Introduction
The Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Bachelor of Science in Community Health dual degree option will provide PTA students the opportunity to broaden their understanding of health care and expand on their Associates degree by focusing on one of the Community Health concentration areas which include: Gerontology, Public Health, Human Services, Women’s Health and Healthcare Business. The degree plan below outlines the options for students pursuing the Community-Based Track. Students interested in the Pre-Health Professional Track will have additional science courses added to help them complete pre-requisites for application into health profession programs.

Curriculum Requirements
To complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health, students must successfully complete a total of at least 120-121 semester hours. These hours are distributed as follows:
- Core Courses = 9 semester hours
- General Courses = 58-59 semester hours (includes 18 hours from selected CHL concentration)
- Major Courses (PTA) = 49 semester hours
- Major Courses (CHL) = 4 semester hours

Service reflects a holistic view that focuses on how individuals provide high quality, ethical and compassionate service in the field of health care and the community at large. Students will become familiar with service agencies, connect learning with practice and engage in civic service activities to live and demonstrate the Clarkson College Values of Learning, Caring, Commitment, Integrity and Excellence.
