The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Community Health dual degree is geared toward students who have an interest in working in a public health setting. This dual program provides students the opportunity to broaden their understanding of health care and expand on their nursing degree by focusing on one of these Community Health concentrations: Public Health, Human Services, Gerontology, Women’s Health or Healthcare Business.

Admission Policies

Curriculum Requirements

To complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health, students must successfully complete a total of 148-149 semester hours. These hours are distributed as follows:

  • Core Courses = 9 semester hours
  • General Courses = 72-73 semester hours (includes 18 hours from selected CHL concentration) 
  • Major Courses (BSN) = 63 semester hours
  • Major Courses (CHL) = 4 semester hours

Service Requirements

Service reflects a holistic view that focuses on how individuals provide high quality, ethical and compassionate service in the field of health care and the community at large. Students will become familiar with service agencies, connect learning with practice and engage in civic service activities to live and demonstrate the Clarkson College Values of Learning, Caring, Commitment, Integrity and Excellence.
